History
Springwood Neighbourhood Centre Co-operative (SNCC) opened its doors to the public on the 20 February 1978. The idea for the centre came two years earlier, when a group of extraordinary people recognised the need for a centre and formed the Community Aid Group with the aim of establishing one.
After raising funds with raffles and street stalls and generating much needed public support, the group's vision was realised.
In 2008 SNCC celebrated its 30th anniversary with three events over three days and the launch of a booklet about our history called All Hands on Deck. Copies of the booklet are available from the centre.
More than thirty years since it opened, the centre continues to expand its services to provide for the needs of the community from Valley Heights to Linden.
