After school care
After school care at Tanderra operates Monday to Friday, 2.30pm to 6.30pm. Children are collected from designated pick-up points by staff and escorted safely to the centre.
Once there, a healthy, nutritious afternoon tea is available. The menu includes tasty dishes such as macaroni cheese, bread and dips, apple crumble, custard and fruit and plenty more. Each day, fresh fruit and/or vegetables are available.
A variety of interesting and fun activities including art and crafts, sports, games, cooking are offered. Children can choose to participate or decide to simply play with their friends. Either way, they are always supervised by our caring, experienced and/or qualified staff.
Tanderra is also part of the Active After School Communities program sponsored by the Australian Sports Commission and a variety of activities including soccer skills, dancing and drumming are available twice a week. The activities are optional (children can decide whether they want to join in) and presented by a qualified instructor.
Tanderra services the following local primary schools - Springwood, Faulconbridge, Ellison, St Thomas Aquinas and the Steiner School.
After school care is $18 per child per afternoon. Childcare Benefit (CCB) is available and is means-tested. Childcare Rebate is non-means tested, is available to all families and gives you back 50% of your out-of-pocket costs on a quarterly basis. Families apply for these through Centrelink.
