Aged & Disability
Community Visitors’ Scheme (CVS) is a national program funded by the Australian Government. The scheme aims to enrich the quality of life of people living in aged care homes or those in their own homes who receive a government Home Care Package who are socially isolated or lonely, and who would benefit from a friendly visitor. This includes people with disabilities who are in care homes. To volunteer for this program, or if you know someone who would benefit from the companionship provided, contact Jo Newton on 4751 3033 or email cvs@sncc.org.au or jnewton@belongbm.org.au
Volunteer Home Visitors (VHV) Service is a government funded program that offers companionship and support for older residents living at home. Our friendly and trained volunteers can assist with home visits, social outings, shopping, writing correspondence and library services, as well as providing access to social and community based activities. For more information, contact Tonje Akerholt on 4751 3033 or email
Please note that due to COVID-19, home visiting has been impacted and contact the co-ordinators for latest information.
