Digital Mentoring is a one-on-one service at Springwood Neighbourhood Centre where a volunteer can help you become more familiar with your smart phone, iPad, or tablet. It's a FREE service. Bookings are a must, so call the Centre on 4751 3033 for more information.
Talking Gazette is a FREE local news resource provided weekly on CD/DVD that overviews the Blue Mountains Gazette and is produced by rotating volunteer narrators. To sign up to the service, contact the Centre on 4751 3033.
Raising Kin is a support group for grandparents, relatives and kinship carers who care for a child who is a relative. Come along to meet others who are the primary carers of a grandchild, niece or nephew, sibling or other relative who is not their child. This group meet on the first Wednesday of the month during school terms at 10am until 12pm, at the Uniting Church Lower Hall, 4 Lewin street, Springwood. NEW VENUE
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Group is a support group for anyone with a lived experience of mental health issues. This group combines a mix of guest speakers, peer support, and artistic activities. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm, during school term. It meets in Springwood Neighbourhood Centre's drop-in lounge. (Formally Peers in Recovery and Artscope).
On Hold due to COVID-19 Restrictions
Maths Club is a free maths tutorial drop in group for high school students facilitated by a retired TAFE maths teacher. Ian, the facilitator, can support students from years 7 to 12. Just bring along any work you are having difficulty with.
It runs every Wednesday during school term, from3pm until 4.30pm at Springwood Neighbourhood Centre.
